Why would a guy chase a married woman?

For the guy, he is just looking for an opportunity, a single time the girl will lower her defense. And he is done. If hes selfish enough to disrespect you, your husband, and your marriage- yeah. A lot of people dont respect the institution of marriage, and if they do, it may come second to their own wants.
