The Golden Rule of Cosplay is as follows: Cosplay is NOT consent! That means even if someone is wearing something revealing or they are cosplaying a character with a proclivity for certain behaviors, do not touch them without asking, do not verbally or sexually harass them.

What do cosplayers value?

For some, it means embodying the the values of the character we wish to portray. In many cases, when we cosplay a character, we inspire others because it may be someones first time seeing their hero fully fleshed out. When done properly, it can leave an indelible mark on those who see this portrayal.

How much is too much for a cosplay?

“ In general, cosplays can be as low as $50 or even less, especially with sports Anime costumes. Or they can be as expensive as hundreds or even thousands of dollars (e.g. full Worbla armor costumes that are custom-made). With that said, I find most cosplayers spend between $100-$300 per cosplay.
